Who’s booing now?

Hyun Soo Kim‘s welcome to Baltimore on his first Opening Day  included “modest but unmistakable” boos from the Charm City faithful. He said at the time, “I will try my best to get back to how I was before and actually contribute to the team so there are no boos for me, and actually only cheers for me.” Consider him a contributor.

Kim registered his third three-hit game of the season on Wednesday. He is just the second Orioles player to have a trio of three-hit nights in his first 20 career games. The other was … Sherman Obando. Obando had four three-hit efforts in his first 20 games during his rookie campaign in 1993.

Kim’s previous three-hit games came on April 30 and May 25. Obando’s three-hit games came on April 18, May 6, May 18, and May 19.

Jerry Hairston is the only Orioles player to have multiple four-hit nights in his first 20 career games. Hairston’s big nights in 1999 came on June 29 and July 8.

For what it’s worth, Joey Rickard had two three-hit outings (April 20 and April 21) in his first 20 games.
