Orioles Minicamp in Sarasota (Photos)

Your Baltimore Orioles opened their January minicamp in Sarasota on Monday at the Ed Smith Stadium complex.

As the Baltimore Sun explains, the minicamp, “has been focused primarily on getting an early look at the organization’s young pitchers, and it often offers Orioles manager Buck Showalter his first glimpse of which young arms could play a role for the major league team in the upcoming season and down the line.”

Also per The Sun, this year’s camp will be as much about new pitching coach Roger McDowell and new bullpen coach Alan Mills as it is about any of the young arms attending.

But links to other articles about minicamp is not why you came here. You’re looking for pictures of Baltimore’s beloved Buck and reminders that baseball season is just around the corner. With a tip of the cap to Sarasota’s finest photographer, Norm Schimmel, I’m happy to oblige.
