Today in Baltimore Orioles History
April 13, 1966 (Reminder: The Orioles were really good back then)
The O’s got back-to-back home runs from Brooks Robinson and Frank Robinson in the first inning and a two-run homer from Jim Palmer in the second inning to power their way to an 8-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. In addition to his power at the plate, Palmer earned the complete-game victory on the mound. The 1966 Orioles started the season with an 11-1 record in the month of April.
About Last Night
Focus more on … Cedric Mullins: 2-for-5 with a grand slam and a ninth-inning double off of All-Star Milwaukee Brewers closer Josh Hader.
Focus less on … RISP: 1-for-13 including failing to plate a run with the bases loaded and nobody out in the bottom of the eighth inning of a one-run game.
