-The Orioles have now had five or more home runs in a game on 53 occasions.
-The 1996 team had five or more homers in a game six different times. That’s the most of any O’s squad. The next-highest total is three times in a season, which the O’s have accomplished six times: 2012, 2008, 1995, 1994, 1987, 1985,
-The most homers the Orioles have ever had in one game is eight. That happened last season on June 16 versus the Phillies in a game the O’s won 19-3. Manny Machado and Chris Parmelee each went deep twice. The O’s also got homers from Jimmy Paredes, Chris Davis, Ryan Flaherty, and David Lough.
-The record for most home runs in one game for any team belongs to the Toronto Blue Jays, who went deep 10 times against the … Baltimore Orioles. It happened on Sept. 14, 1987 at Exhibition Stadium. Catcher Ernie Whitt led the way with the only three-homer game of his career.
-The Orioles five home runs versus the Rangers are one fewer than the six home runs the Rangers hit in their 30-3 victory in Baltimore on Aug. 22, 2007. (Sorry for bringing that up.)
Update (Saturday at 8:15 a.m): The Orioles have now had a game with five or more home runs in three consecutive seasons. The last time they did that was 2006 through 2008.
